SciQuest: From Curiosity to Discovery is a STEM education initiative created as part of my Girl Scout Gold Award project. The program introduces middle school students to scientific research through interactive lessons, virtual experiments, and hands-on inquiry activities. Students learn how to ask scientific questions, develop hypotheses, design experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings.
Many students are curious about science but do not have opportunities to experience the process of scientific research. SciQuest was designed to provide an accessible introduction to inquiry-based learning and help students build confidence in asking questions, exploring ideas, and solving problems through science.

27 students so far
Scientific question & hypothesis identification: 71% → 100%
Knowledge of variables: 76% → 90%
Graph interpretation: 100% after workshop
Asking scientific questions: 3.6 → 4.8
Creating hypotheses: 3.4 → 4.7
Designing experiments: 3.6 → 4.4
To ensure the project continues beyond my direct involvement, I developed a SciQuest Sustainability Toolkit containing lesson plans, slides, worksheets, assessments, implementation guides, and volunteer resources. The toolkit has been shared with community organizations and student leaders who can continue offering workshops in the future.
